Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the evolution of architectural and planning principles of congress centers placement in the structure of large cities under the influence of globalization challenges, digital revolution and changing social demands. The transition from the model of an isolated monofunctional facility to the concept of an integrated multifunctional complex acting as a catalyst for urban development and a center of public life is proved.

Based on the analysis of international experience, the author identified and systematized four typological models of congress centers placement: integrated, cluster, transport-oriented and point. For each model, key characteristics, advantages and implementation examples are defined.

In conclusion, a set of criteria for effective placement has been formulated, including transport accessibility, functional synergy, space flexibility, environmental sustainability, and technological equipment for hybrid formats. The results of the study are presented.
